Shane Greenstein’s Work with the Open Internet Advisory Committee
On the one-year anniversary of the Open Internet Advisory Committee (OIAC), Professor Shane Greenstein reflects on his experience as a committee member in his blog, Virulent Word of Mouse. The mission of the OIAC is to track and evaluate the effects of the FCC's Open Internet rules. Professor Greenstein’s post, “The Open Internet Advisory Committee at year one,” explains why the OIAC was formed, and then discusses some of the work the committee has accomplished. Summing up, Professor Greenstein states, “this committee has done wonderful work to support policy making.”
Shane Greenstein is the Kellogg Chair of Information Technology and Professor of Management and Strategy at the Kellogg School of Management, Northwestern University. He is a leading researcher in the business economics of computing, communications and Internet infrastructure.
