About Ronald J. Mann

Ronald Mann is a Professor of Law at the Columbia Law School, where he joined the faculty on July 1, 2007. His scholarship focuses on various topics related to electronic commerce; a dominant focus for many years has been the shift from paper-based to electronic payment systems. He also has spent a great deal of time in recent years studying software and the role of intellectual property in fostering investment in the software industry. Previously, he served upon the faculty of the University of Texas, University of Michigan, and Washington University.

Professor Mann is a member of the American Law Institute. Recently, he served as the reporter for the amendments to Articles 3 and 4 of the Uniform Commercial Code.
